Steinway & Sons release a limited number of ‘Crown Jewel’ series pianos every year, custom designed for individual customers. These pianos are manufactured from only the highest grade exotic timbers, hand selected by Steinway craftsman; most of these timbers originate predominantly from South America and Africa.
This specific piano is manufactured entirely from African ‘Fiddleback’ Mahogany. This extremely exotic timber can be identified by its striking cross grained patterning, with fiddleback features cutting the opposite way to the flamed mahogany grain.
In addition to the cabinet, this particular piano is unique to anything you can purchase today, with its custom ordered 1 piece bone ivory keyboard; an option no longer available. This therefore sets this piano aside from all others and places it in a league completely on its own. Owned by a local Adelaide resident from new, this piano is in immaculate, as new condition.
