~ Fully Restored C.Bechstein ‘Artiste’ Concert Grand Piano ~
This is quite possibly the most rare, unique and beautiful concert grand piano that we have ever restored; you will most likely never see another one of these pianos ever again in Australia. As an exclusive C.Bechstein dealer, we can give you complete piece of mind in purchasing this amazing piano.
Manufactured in the original C.Bechstein piano factory in Berlin, Germany in 1904 the piano was imported into Australia by a wealthy family in Toorak, Melbourne and amazingly remained in the same family home since new. We have tuned and maintained the piano for many years for the previous owners and when it came up for sale we jumped at the chance to acquire this stunning instrument.
The piano has been completely restored by us inside and out in our piano restoration workshop in Evandale, South Australia. Restoration work has included a full restring & and repin as well as having the piano mechanism and ivory keyboard completely rebuilt to perfect playing condition. No less than 500hours labour has gone into restoring this amazing instrument.
We have also fully refinished the stunning two tone cabinet, combining solid European Ebony and with Burl Walnut highlights; this piano now presents as brand new. With a new C.Bechstein Concert Grand Piano now retailing for in excess of $350,000 this is the perfect option for the new piano buyer.
We have also obtained the official documentation of original manufacture and sale from C.Bechstein, Germany. This document shows the piano as first sold to R.Keuer of Neubabelsberg, Germany in 1905.
