Leaver & Son has been associated with Alex.Steinbach Pianos for more than 30 years, initially, as their service/tuning & warranty agent, before becoming a dealer approximately 20 years ago.
Our long-standing relationship has enabled us, in recent years, to custom-design selected pianos, on order. And now, we are going one step further!
Joe Leaver was recently invited by Alex.Steinbach to visit their factory to consult on the design and manufacturing processes used in the production of their upright and grand pianos.
He attended a number of in-depth meetings, providing advice as requested, which were highly productive and resulted in some exciting outcomes for the new piano market in Australia.
Acting on the advice provided, Alex.Steinbach has announced that all new model upright and grand pianos are being updated with the latest, highest-quality German components, which have now become available.
The outcome of these updates is that all new Alex.Steinbach pianos will have the same level of quality components found in Steinway’s ‘Boston’ range.
Together with features such as soft-close fallboard, German rosleau strings, double wheeled castors, and their lifetime warranty, these updates will firmly place Alex.Steinbach in the premium piano category, and ensure their new upright and grand pianos are serious contenders in the new piano market.
We are very excited to be able to offer these updated models in our SA and Tassie stores very soon!

I have played only today the steinbach at adelaide airport and I am in love, it was so compact I had to keep checking the movement was actually acoustic..compared to my yamaha clavinova..and the volume just sang higher the heavier I played..loved it..would like to own this baby..I have to laugh, some guy came up and put $2 on the side..thought I was busking..so I must be getting better
